In the realm of self-improvement and achieving goals, manifestation has become a buzzword, often associated with new age philosophies and spiritual practices. However, for many of us, the concept of manifestation isn't entirely foreign. As an elite athlete, I've come to realise that manifestation has been an integral part of my journey long before I even knew what to call it.
Throughout my field hockey career, whether I was deadlifting, squatting, doing pitch run’s, or during a pre game warm up, visualisation was key. Before stepping onto the hockey pitch or into the gym, I would close my eyes and mentally rehearse every movement, every play, every scenario. I'd visualise success with such clarity that it felt tangible, as if I were living it in that very moment.
This practice wasn't just about positive thinking or wishful dreaming; it was about harnessing the power of my mind to shape my reality. By vividly picturing myself achieving my goals, I was priming my brain and body for success. Studies in sports psychology have shown that visualisation techniques can enhance performance by improving confidence, focus, and even muscle memory.
But manifestation goes beyond the realm of sport. Setting up KIBO, and being the only person responsible for my destination I soon realised that the same principles applied. Just as I once visualised myself making a critical save, I now envision myself achieving my entrepreneurial dreams. Whether it's securing a new client, expanding KIBOs reach, or overcoming obstacles, manifestation plays a crucial role in shaping my path to success.
What's fascinating is that manifestation isn't about magical thinking or simply wishing for things to happen. It's about setting clear intentions, aligning your thoughts and actions, and tapping into the unlimited potential of the subconscious mind. By consistently visualising your goals and believing in your ability to achieve them, you start to attract the opportunities, resources, and support needed to turn your dreams into reality.
In essence, manifestation is about becoming the architect of your destiny. It's about recognising that you have the power to create the life you desire, whether that's in sports, business, or any other aspect of your life. Just as I once visualised myself standing on the hockey pitch, in that goal, making that save. I now see myself and KIBO at the peak of success helping others reach their potential.
So, to anyone who may be sceptical about the power of manifestation, just take a little look within yourself. Chances are, you've been practicing it all along, perhaps without even realising it.
Embrace the power of your thoughts, visualise your goals with unwavering clarity, and watch as the universe conspires to make your dreams a reality. After all, whether on the pitch, the office, the boardroom, or at home, the power to manifest lies within each and every one of us.
